3 seater sofa removal is the standard job: one sofa, two people, one van. A three seater is longer than a doorway is wide, so it almost certainly came into the room on its end and it will leave the same way. Email us a photo of the sofa with a line about the route to the front door. We reply with a fixed price that covers carrying, loading and disposal, and you pay once the sofa is in the van.
The awkward part of a three seater is rarely the weight. It is the length on a stair turn, the width of the back on a landing, and the arms catching the door frame on the way through. The crew has more than 500 jobs behind it and will turn, tilt and walk the sofa out without you taking an end. If the sofa is in a flat, our guide on getting a sofa out of a flat explains what we look for in the photo.
Three seaters rarely leave alone. If you also have a 2 seater or an armchair from the same suite, put all of it in the photo and we price the visit as one job rather than three. If what you have is bigger than a three seater, the corner sofa removal page covers L-shapes, chaises and modular groups, and they come out in a different way.
Once it is loaded, a three seater goes one of two ways. If it is clean, sound and still has its permanent fire safety label, we pass it on for reuse where we can find somewhere to take it. Otherwise it goes to a licensed waste transfer station, where the frame, springs, foam and fabric are separated. Sofa Removal holds upper tier waste carrier licence CBDU526130. How a 3 seater sofa collection works
-
Send a photo
Photograph the three seater from the front and, if you can, the doorway or stairs it has to get through. Email both to us or drop them in the quote form.
-
Get a fixed price
We reply with a single price for the whole job. It already includes the stairs, the carrying and the disposal, so nothing changes when the crew sees the sofa.
-
Book a slot
Tell us which day works and we confirm it by email. Same-day or next-day slots are often available, and an early email gives you the best chance of one.
-
Pay once it is loaded
The crew carries the sofa out, gets it onto the van and you pay the price you were quoted. Nothing is added on the day.
Why people use us
Registered waste carrier
Sofa Removal holds upper tier waste carrier licence CBDU526130, so your three seater is disposed of legally and you can have a waste transfer note to prove it.
Covered on the stairs
Public liability insurance to £5 million and employers' liability to £10 million cover the crew while they carry your sofa through your home.
No survey, no extras
The photo tells us what we need. You get a fixed price by email and that is what you pay when the sofa is loaded.
A crew that has done this before
Over 15 years in the trade, 500 or more sofas collected and a 5 star rating on Google.
Getting a 3 seater down the stairs and out of the door
The crew starts by taking the seat and back cushions off and carrying those out first, which makes the sofa lighter and easier to hold. The sofa is then tipped on its end so that its depth, not its length, is what has to pass through the doorway. On a staircase one person takes the lower end and walks backwards while the other steers from above, and the sofa is turned flat or on its side at the landing depending on the shape of the turn. Nothing is dragged across your floor.
You do not need to measure anything or dismantle anything. It helps if the hallway is clear of coats, shoes and anything on the wall at shoulder height along the stairs, and if pets and small children are in another room while the sofa is on the move. Have a quick look down the sides of the seats for keys and loose change before we lift it, because once it is on the van it is gone.
After collection the sofa is checked for the permanent fire safety label and its general condition. A sound three seater with the label in place is offered for reuse. One that is worn, broken or missing the label is taken to a licensed waste transfer station and broken down, with the timber and metal recycled and the upholstery handled separately from general waste.

3 seater sofa removal questions
Will a 3 seater fit back out through my door?
Almost always, because it came in through that door or window in the first place. The crew tips it on end and angles it through. If you are unsure, include the doorway in your photo and we will tell you before we book.
Can you take a 3 seater from a second floor flat with no lift?
Yes. Two people carry it down the stairs and through the communal door, and that is included in the price you are quoted. Mention the floor and the stairs in your email so we can plan for it.
Do I need to take the cushions off or remove the feet?
No. The crew removes the loose cushions and carries them separately, and takes the feet off only if that is what it takes to clear a doorway. You open the door and we do the rest.
Can you take the matching armchair at the same time?
Yes. Put the armchair in the same photo, or send a second picture in the same email, and the price we send covers both pieces in a single visit.
Could my three seater be reused rather than scrapped?
Possibly. If it is clean, the frame is sound and the permanent fire safety label is still attached, we pass it on for reuse where we can. Without the label it cannot be reused and goes for recycling instead.
How soon can you collect a 3 seater sofa?
Same day or next day wherever possible. Email the photo in the morning for the best chance of a slot that day, and we reply with the earliest time we have.
Email a photo of your three seater
Send it to hello@sofa-removal.co.uk with the floor it is on, or use the form above. We send a fixed price back and book the slot.
