Corner sofa removal starts with taking the sofa apart. Nearly every corner sofa was delivered in sections and bolted or clipped together in the room, which is why it now looks as if it could never get back out of the door. The crew separates it into its pieces, carries each one out and loads it. Email us a photo of the whole sofa and we send one fixed price that covers the dismantling, the carrying and the disposal.
This page covers L-shape and U-shape corner sofas, chaise-end sofas, modular units that sit together in any order, and corner groups with a storage section or a built-in footstool. The chaise or the corner piece is usually the heaviest and most awkward single part because it is deep in both directions. We work out which order to take it apart in and which door each section goes through, and you do not lift anything.
If you also have a 3 seater or a 2 seater going, or the corner group has a matching footstool, put the lot in one photo and you get one price for the visit. A corner sofa with reclining seats is covered on the recliner sofa removal page, because the metal mechanisms make each section heavier and change how it comes apart.
Every section leaves under upper tier waste carrier licence CBDU526130, which is registered with the Environment Agency. Once the sections are loaded they go for reuse if the sofa is sound and still carries its fire safety label, and otherwise to a licensed waste transfer station where the frames, foam and covers are separated. The foam and fabric in a corner sofa can contain persistent organic pollutants, which is why it is kept apart from general waste and not landfilled. For the practical side of a tight building, see how to get a sofa out of a flat.

The crew splits the sofa into its sections, carries each one out and loads them all. You pay the quoted price when the last piece is on the van.
Why people use us
Dismantling is part of the job
The crew undoes the brackets, clips or bolts holding the sections together and carries each piece out. You do not need tools, help or a spare afternoon.
Licensed for the whole load
Upper tier waste carrier licence CBDU526130 covers everything we carry, and we can tell you where each section of your corner sofa went.
Insured while we work
Public liability insurance up to £5 million and employers' liability of £10 million are in place while the crew is taking your sofa apart and carrying it out.
Fixed price, however it splits
The price from your photo covers every section, and 15 years of doing this means we know what a corner sofa turns into before we arrive.
Taking a corner sofa apart and getting the sections out
A corner sofa is held together underneath by metal brackets that slot into each other, by plastic clips, or by bolts through the frames. The crew tips the end section back, undoes the connector and lifts the piece clear, then works along the sofa until the corner unit is standing on its own. From that point it is a row of small sofas and each one is carried out the way a two seater would be. The chaise is carried on its end because it is too deep to go through a doorway flat.
You do not need to take anything apart or find the fixings. What helps is the photo: take it from far enough back to show all the sections and the lines where they join, and tell us how many pieces you think it is and if it was built in the room by the delivery crew. Clear the coffee table and rug out of the way if you can, because the sections are turned and walked across that floor one at a time.
Once loaded, a corner sofa in good condition with its permanent fire safety label on each section is offered for reuse where we can. Otherwise the sections go to a licensed waste transfer station, where the timber and metal frames are recycled and the foam and fabric are kept separate from general waste and sent for incineration with energy recovery at a permitted facility.

Corner sofa removal questions
Do I need to take the corner sofa apart before you arrive?
No. The crew brings what is needed to separate the sections and does it in the room. If you have already split it, that is fine too, just say so in the email.
My corner sofa was built in the room and will not fit through the door. Can you still take it?
Yes. That is the normal case for a corner sofa. It came in as sections and it leaves as sections, so send a photo of the whole thing and we will tell you how we expect it to come out.
Do you take modular sofas with lots of separate pieces?
Yes. Modular sofas are often the easiest, because each unit is already a self-contained piece. Count the units for us in your email so the price covers all of them.
Is a corner sofa priced per section?
No. You get one fixed price for the whole sofa from the photo, and that includes taking it apart, carrying every section out and disposing of all of it. Nothing is added when the crew counts the pieces.
Can a corner sofa be reused?
Sometimes. It needs to be clean, undamaged and have its permanent fire safety label still attached, and all its sections and fixings need to be there. If so, we pass it on for reuse where we can find a taker.
Can you get a corner sofa out of a top floor flat?
Yes. Once it is in sections, each piece is carried down the stairs or taken in the lift like any small sofa. Tell us the floor and if there is a lift, and photograph the stairwell if it is tight.
